Zelenskyy pleads for help in impassioned speech to Congress

WASHINGTON (AP) — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has summoned the memory of Pearl Harbor and the Sept. 11 terror attacks in an impassioned plea to Congress to send more help for Ukraine’s fight against Russia. Lawmakers stood and cheered for Zelenskyy’s live-video speech. And President Joe Biden later announced the U.S. is sending more anti-aircraft, anti-armor weapons and drones. Later Wednesday, Biden also declared Russian President Vladimir Putin is a war criminal, the strongest condemnation by the U.S. president since the Russian onslaught began nearly three weeks ago.
