PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Pakistani officials say members of the country’s security forces and five militants have been killed after insurgents attacked a regional police headquarters and two military posts. The attacks early Friday came three days after a suicide bomber in the same region rammed his car into a police station’s main gate and five others opened fire, killing 23 officers in this year’s worst attack on security personnel. The military and local police chief Iftikhar Shah says three police officers were “martyred” and three others wounded in an attack and firefight that also killed the five alleged attackers in the town of Tank. Two soldiers died in another militant attack in Khyber region of northwest Pakistan.
