Prineville woman arrested in police raid on home that turned up $40,000 worth of stolen vehicles, skid steer, artificial turf
PRINEVILLE, Ore. (KTVZ) – Crook County sheriff’s deputies and Prineville Police raided a southeast Prineville home Saturday, finding about $40,000 worth of stolen items, including four trailers, a skid steer and artificial turf. One of the two women living there was arrested on 17 charges.
Deputies and officers served a search warrant in the 2200 block of Southeast Melrose Drive, Sergeant Tim Durheim said.
They recovered four stolen trailers, a stolen Caterpillar skid steer with attachments and hundreds of square feet of artificial turf, the sergeant said. The estimated value of the items is $40,000.
A 35-year-old resident was arrested and booked into the Crook County Jail, where she was held without bail pending an initial court appearance.
The arrest charges included four counts each of first-degree theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and unauthorized use of a vehicle, along with two counts of first-degree theft by receiving and single counts of second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree criminal trespass and trafficking a vehicle with an altered VIN (Vehicle Identification Number.)
Durheim said the investigation was continuing, and more charges – and arrests – are expected.
