(Update: Three missing children located, DHS says)

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – Nearly a month after three young siblings went missing with their mother from Bend, the Oregon Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division said Wednesday that the children have been located.

Jose Armani Ayala Barboza, age 8, and Jailyne Ayala Barboza and Dolce Ayala Barboza, both age 5, had gone missing with their mother, Sara Barboza, from Bend on Wednesday, October 2. They were found on Sunday, DHS said.

The Child Welfare Division said it's "thankful for the community support to find the Barboza siblings."

However, as is often the case in such situations, the state agency released no further details on where they were found or other information.

In its initial news release about the missing children on Friday, October 4, the agency said it believed "the Barboza siblings may be at risk and is searching for them to assess their safety."

"They are believed to be traveling towards Southern California or Mexico," DHS said at the time. "They may also be traveling with Francisco Guzman or Juan Carlos Ayala Ramirez. Sara Barboza is known to also go by Sara Ayala."

ODHS had asked the public to help in the effort to find the Barboza siblings. Anyone who suspected they had information about the location of the children, Sara Barboza or Francisco Guzman was asked to call 911 or the Oregon Child Abuse Hotline at 1-855-503-SAFE (7233).

Guzman is the mother's partner and Ramirez is the children's father, officials said. They added that they had no vehicle descriptions to share, which is needed for law enforcement to issue an AMBER Alert.

Sometimes when a child is missing, they may be in significant danger, and ODHS may need to locate them to assess and support their safety.

As ODHS works to do everything it can to find these missing children and assess their safety, media alerts will be issued in some circumstances, when it is determined necessary. Sometimes, in these situations, a child may go missing repeatedly, resulting in more than one media alert for the same child.

Report child abuse to the Oregon Child Abuse Hotline by calling 1-855-503-SAFE (7233).  This toll-free number allows you to report abuse of any child or adult to the Oregon Department of Human Services, 24 hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year.
