Shootout in McKenzie Bridge leaves two men seriously injured

MGN

McKENZIE BRIDGE, Ore. (KTVZ) -- A dispute between two men led to a shootout Sunday in McKenzie Bridge that sent both to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Lane County sheriff's deputies responded around 11 a.m. to a report of two people shooting at each other in the 54700 block of Caddis Lane in McKenzie Bridge, an unincorporated community along state Highway 126 about 50 miles east of Eugene.

Both men were taken to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening gunshot wounds, deputies said.

Investigating deputies and detectives who spoke with several witnesses determined the two men knew each other and were involved in a dispute.

No one else was involved in the incident, deputies said, and they assured that there was no ongoing threat to the public.

Anyone with information was asked to call sheriff's dispatchers at 541-682-4150, Option 1, and refer to Case 25-5457.
