SISTERS, Ore. (KTVZ) – One day after the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office sought help from the public to find an escaped horse missing in the Sisters area, the agency said it had learned the animal had been found in "relatively good health."

"The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office was just notified the missing Mustang has been located and in relatively good health," Sergeant Jason Wall said in the Thursday afternoon update.

"We would like to thank all those that assisted in attempting to locate the missing horse," Wall added.

The horse owner had contacted county 911 dispatchers around 10 p.m. Tuesday to report that a 17-month-old mustang had escaped from the owner’s property in the 70000 block of Homes Road, near Sisters, Wall said Wednesday.

The all-white mustang was last seen wearing a red and white blanket, as pictured in two photos accompanying the new release.
