There’s Good News: A stray dog in Texas helped rescue stray kittens, now he’s looking for his forever home

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- There's a special dog in Texas looking for a new home.

Blackie was apparently homeless when he was taken under the wing of some Border Patrol agents--and one day he helped bring a happy ending to another group of lost animals.

Karen Washington is the president of Pawsitive Rescuers of El Paso. She says this past December, Blackie showed up near the river downtown. He stuck around and kept the Border Patrol agents company.

One day, Blackie trusted them enough to ask for their help. He brought a kitten from the riverbed to the agents, asking them to save it. The Border Patrol agents contacted Pawsitive Rescuers.

Washington told Border Patrol where there is one kitten, there are usually more. One of the agents searched along the riverbank and found the rest of the litter.

Blackie will soon be up for adoption! It goes without saying, he'd fit in great with a household that has cats.
