Subaru of Bend ‘Shares the Love,’ donates $52,000 to Ronald McDonald House
Bend, Ore. (KTVZ) — On Monday at Subaru of Bend, the local Ronald McDonald House was presented with a check for more than $50,000. That money came from Subaru's Share the Love event.
People who bought a new vehicle during the event were able to select a charity for Subaru to donate to in their name. Based on the donation amount, a large number of purchasers chose for their funds to stay here local.
Matt Thomas, the owner of Subaru of Bend, said, "We're just doing our check presentation for the annual Share The Love event. It's a fall promotion by Subaru, donates to local nonprofit and national nonprofit."
He added, "I just think it's a it's a good program, and we're we're happy to do it. And we like guiding national money to our local nonprofits and charities. "
"We can donate to a local charity every year between November and January.", Jake Thomas, Manager at Subaru of Bend told KTVZ News: "We sold 299 new vehicles and then sponsored Ronald McDonald House with those funds."
While receiving the check, Lauren Olander, Chief Development Officer at the Bend Ronald McDonald House said: "The Bend Ronald McDonald House is beyond grateful for the support of Subaru and Subaru of Bend. This is the second time that we have been a partner with them, and we couldn't do the work we do without their support. So thank you very much. "
The Bend Ronald McDonald House told KTVZ it costs around $250 per night to house a family. It said the donation will go a long way in helping support those it serves.
