Central Oregon Warming Up: Highs Near 70s to Start the Week

KTVZ-TV

Today has been a nice mix of sun and clouds, but as we head into the evening, you’ll notice the clouds thickening up. A weak warm front is moving toward the Cascades, which brings a small chance of rain tonight.

Since the chance is relatively low, any rain we do see will likely be brief and scattered rather than a steady downpour.

Expect a mild night ahead with lows staying in the upper 30s to lower 40s. If you have plans early Monday morning, don’t be surprised by some lingering clouds or a stray sprinkle, but the big story for tomorrow is the warm-up.

We are looking at a major jump in temperatures as a ridge of high pressure builds over the Pacific Northwest.

Highs on Monday are expected to reach high 60s to lower 70s across the region. It’s going to feel like a different season compared to last week, though it will be a bit breezy with southwest wind gusts reaching 20–25 mph in the afternoon.

Up in the mountains, things are staying a bit more “wintry” for now. The east slopes of the Cascades still have a slight chance of snow showers tonight and tomorrow morning—so keep an eye on those pass conditions if you're traveling early.

However, with this warming trend, those snow levels will be climbing fast. Whether you’re heading out to enjoy the 70-degree weather tomorrow or just commuting to work, it’s going to be a beautiful start to the week for the High Desert.
