Snow Report: Hopes for Possible Weekend ‘Dusting’

The weekend starts warm and sunny before a shift toward winter conditions late Sunday.

  • Saturday, March 28:
    • Weather: Mostly sunny and warm with highs reaching the mid-60s in Bend and the low 50s near the Cascades.
    • Snow: None expected. Surface conditions will likely be "spring-like" (freeze-thaw).
  • Sunday, March 29:
    • Day: Increasing clouds and breezy conditions. Highs will drop to the upper 40s/low 50s.
    • Night: A cold front arrives. Snow is likely at higher elevations (above 5,000 ft).
    • Accumulation: Initial estimates suggest a dusting to 1 inch of new snow overnight at resort levels.

Looking Ahead: Early Next Week

A more significant cooling trend begins Monday, March 30.

  • Monday: 50% chance of snow showers with snow levels dropping to 2,500–4,000 feet.
  • Mid-Week: NOAA is tracking a stronger system for Wednesday and Thursday that could bring heavy snow to the Cascades.
