LOCAL ALERT WEATHER DAY: Rain and Strong Winds are Forecasted for Wednesday, impacting communities across Central Oregon

KTVZ-TV

The winds are expected to gust near 40 - 45 mph Wednesday with rainy conditions. The trees still have a good amount of leaves on them and the wind will may push over some trees, or limbs. The rain this week may have weakened or compromised the root systems of our trees so there may be an added variable to the issue. Localized power outages may occur if the limbs break off on to power lines.

A High Wind Warning is in place for Klamath and Lake Counties through the day, and strong storms are forecast for the western portion of Oregon. We are close enough to all of these issues.

The Yellow Local Alert Day is to prepare you for the dangerous winds and local rain that may impact your day. Please adjust your travel plans if you are choosing to drive out of the Tri-Counties.

Although not as robust as our neighbors to the south, we still need to be "Weather Aware" with respect to the combination of rain, wind and possible power outages.
