Local Alert Weather Day: Thursday and Early Friday

Bend, Ore (KTVZ)-- The KTVZ Local Alert Weather Team has issued a Local Alert Day for Thursday that will extend into Friday morning.
Another Atmospheric River is expected to set up Thursday and provide significant rainfall to the Valley, Coastal Range and the Cascades. There may be some light snow early Thursday that will impact the commute, but the main feature Thursday will be the rain. The rain will push across the mountains and impact Central Oregon. The Atmospheric River will impact the area through the morning hours of Friday.

The temperatures will be cold enough Friday morning to allow the rain to transition to snow. Although little to no accumulating snow is expected at lower elevations, the wet snow and slick roads will make travel difficult for the morning commute. The afternoon of Friday will see some clearing and chilly conditions.
