Spotty rain and patchy fog continue into Saturday, dry New Year’s Eve

The chance for light rain and drizzle will continue into Saturday as an area of low pressure off the coast continues to push moisture into Oregon. The amount of rain will be light, but it will be persistent. Expect to see mostly cloudy skies through the day Saturday before partial clearing overnight. A Dense Fog Advisory for portions of Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson Counties is in place until noon Saturday.

The fog has been the main weather feature impacting travel over the past several mornings and is expected once again tonight.  Tough to scour out has allowed the fog to linger though most of the morning hours, this will continue into Saturday.

Sunday, New Year's Eve day, will be a dry and cool day as temperatures reach the middle 40s under partly cloudy skies. The New Year’s Eve time frame from 6 pm to 1 am will be chilly with temperature readings in the middle to low 30s.

New Year’s Day will be dry as well with the mercury in the thermometer reaching the mid-40s once again. Partly cloudy skies are expected.

Tuesday brings back the chance for some precipitation. A wintry mix of rain and snow is on the docket, with patchy ice and some freezing rain not out of the question.

Wednesday should bring back some drier weather with temps near normal, in the low 40s.
