Warming back to the 80s this weekend, Wildfire continues to grow

The region will be, once again, back in the 80s starting Friday and through the weekend.  We will be looking at the 80-degree range of afternoon highs for the next several days as dry and warm air dominates the area.

High pressure over eastern Oregon has kept the area dry and the winds have relaxed a bit. The cool pattern Thursday followed a weak cold front that has become stationary through central Idaho.  This pattern will linger today and tomorrow with warmer conditions resulting from solar energy and relatively light winds.

Saturday will see a few more clouds arrive, but no rain is expected. Highs will be in the low 80s, but some areas may only see the upper 70s.  The skies clear as the night moves along allowing Sunday to be sunny and warm.

Moving into next week, July starts out dry and sunny with highs in the low 80s.  By the end of the week the temperature readings are likely to be in the middle to upper 80s.

The Darlene 3 Fire has consumed nearly 4000 acres and is growing to the east.  The biggest jump in acreage has been in the east as the fire crews continue to hold the line east of 97.  Winds are likely to arrive from the north, west or northwest the next few days which will keep the fire away from populated areas and the smoke blowing east and southeast.
