Spotty showers today, fire weather risks
Good Tuesday morning!
No relief from the heat is expected yet, as temperatures will continue to linger in the upper 90s to triple digits throughout the week.
There is a chance of showers today that could arrive in the afternoon to early evening with possible isolated thunderstorms.
Since our region is under a Fire Weather Watch, there is concern for these storms to ignite a fire. Current conditions could mean dry lighting which is hazardous for wildfires due to lack of rain.Â
This heatwave has contributed to multiple wildfires currently burning in Oregon. The largest of these are the Cow Valley Fire (over 100,000 acres), the Falls Fire (over 60,000 acres), and the Lone Rock Fire (over 50,000 acres).
We've recently experienced more favorable wind conditions that are pushing smoke away from our area. However, this could change.
