Showers exit the region, return on Saturday
The area of low pressure responsible for the rainy pattern is migrating away from the region today. The location of the low allows more rain to arrive on the back side or the western portion of the rotating low, providing Northeast Oregon with more rain. The chance for showers will come to an end before midnight, but the cooler than normal pattern will remain in place.
Friday will be a partly to mostly cloudy day as we will be in between the exiting low and an arriving one. The next chance for some widespread rain will come on Saturday as the arrival of the new low will provide us with the rain.
Saturday will be cloudy and the chance for widespread rain returns. The best chance for rain will be on the Cascades and should begin in the afternoon. There is the possibility that the mountains may squeeze out all the rain before it gets too far east, but for the moment the forecast is calling for Central Oregon to get some widespread rain. Probably not so much in Crook County, but along 97 there will be measurable rain.
After Saturday, it will be drying out but cool. Highs will be in the upper 70s and low 80s most of next week under mostly sunny skies. There could be cloudy skies early Sunday before we see that second low exit, but mostly dry conditions are on the docket for next week.
