Wet and rainy pattern into the weekend

After some stormy weather last night, today we are mostly cloudy with highs in the 40s to 50s. We’ll see some more rain today, with a chance for some snow mixed in tonight in La Pine and Sunriver. Lows tonight will be in the upper 20s to mid 30s. Afternoon highs will continue to rise by a degree or two each day through the end of the work week.

We remain on the breezy side but not quite as windy as what we saw yesterday. Gusts reached 50-60mph last night in Central Oregon. We’ll see gusts range 20-30mph for another couple days.

As temperatures rise, it means that precipitation will fall in the form of rain for the rest of the week. Southern Deschutes could see a wintry mix overnight or early tomorrow morning but rain is where we are headed.

Thursday and Friday will be our wettest days, with rain totals around a half of an inch by the end of the week. A surface low pressure system with a warm and cold front will swing by in the Thursday evening and early morning Friday time frame, which makes that the time frame that most of the rain will fall. There’s a chance for light showers to linger into Saturday morning but they’ll taper off for the remainder of the weekend.

Rain becomes a little more tricky next week. There is a chance for more rain and wintry mix, but the timing is a bit uncertain. As of right now, Monday and Tuesday could see some rain and snow mixed. I’ll continue to track that as we approach next week.

Happy Wednesday. Have a great day!
