Mild and dry pattern this weekend, rain and snow return next week

The ridge of high pressure over the Eastern Pacific is building into the western United States and will provide a dry and warmer than normal weekend.  This ridge will allow the skies to remain clear and the winds will also be on the light side.

Saturday expect to see sunny and mild weather, more reminiscent of late April than early March as the mercury reaches the low to middle 60s.  The ridge will continue to impact the area on Sunday as well with highs in the low 60s again.

The sky conditions on Sunday will be switching from mostly clear to partly cloudy as the ridge breaks down slightly. There will still be a decent amount of sunshine, but late in the day the clouds begin to take over. 

Monday will be mostly cloudy as the ridge exits east and rain and snow showers drop south into Jefferson County by the afternoon.  Little in the way of accumulation, but some rain and snow will mingle together for a brief period.  The mix will be short lived as the area maintains cloudy and cooler weather.

Tuesday looks to be cloudy with highs in the low 50s ahead of a period of several days of off and on rain and snow.

Wednesday will be the beginning of a rainy and wintry pattern with snow on the Cascades and a mix of rain, ice and snow over the High Desert. This is several days away, but this may be a longer period of rainy and snowy weather with travel being impacted by the weather conditions.
