Showers and storms possible into the night
Moving into the region there will be some spotty showers and isolated thunderstorms. Our region will be impacted by off and on rain into the night and early Tuesday. Expect to hear the rumble of thunder at times as the Storm Prediction Center has placed us in the “General Risk” category for spotty storms today. No severe weather is expected and there will be some brief rounds of rain near the storms. Tuesday the risk pushes east, but we are still expected to reach see some showers in Central Oregon.


Here are some safety tips for you regarding lightning. If you can hear the thunder you need to seek shelter. A stroke has the potential to travel up to 10 miles before striking an object.

A band of snow moved across the Central Oregon Cascades last night and dropped around 8" of snow above 6000 feet. Most of the roads were impacted by some slushy snow into the morning, little accumulation lingered on the road surfaces due to the warmth of the roadway, which were well above 32-degrees.
The temperatures are much cooler than normal as temps will top out in the 50s today. The cool scenario is likely to be done by tomorrow with highs reaching the upper 50s. There is still a chance for some light rain off and on Tuesday, but nothing substantial.
Wednesday through Friday is expected to be dry with temperatures rising back into the 60s to near 70 by Friday.
Rain is in the forecast to return to Central Oregon Saturday and linger into Sunday morning.
