Heating up heading into the weekend

The mercury in the thermometer will reach the low 90s on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday as the ridge of high pressure off the coast remains.  The ridge will continue to push closer to the coast as we move into the weekend which will help temperatures rise a couple of degrees each day.

The warmer than normal pattern has be in place since the weekend as the temps have been in the middle 70s all week. The normal high for early June is around 71, so the middle 70s, obviously, qualifies. As we head toward the weekend, the 80s are expected then the 90s start up on Saturday.

The record high in Bend for Saturday is 92 set back in 1926, and the record for Sunday the 8th is 90 set in 2016, according the Nowcast of the National Weather Service. We may be re-writing the books over the weekend.

If you are out and about this week, remember that the water is still cold from the melting snow, but it is going to be refreshing in the heat later this week.  Always exercise caution while recreating on land or in the water.  This is a great week to get out and enjoy what we live here for, the outdoor life.

Also, remember to stay hydrated this weekend and use sunscreen.

Please stay safe.
