Summer pattern over the region with above normal temperatures

Starting out sunny most days ahead with some cloud cover returning to the area in the afternoon. Our general flow of air is defined as a west to east flow for the next several days. This will result in very little change in the weather pattern as highs will be in the upper 70s and low 80s until Sunday.

Thursday will see a mixture of clouds and sunshine with sunny mornings and some clouds in the afternoon. There does not seem to be much chance for any storms, but a rogue shower may arrive north and east in the afternoon, very low chance. The winds will be noticeable but not overwhelming and highs will reach the upper 70s and low 80s.

Friday looks to gain a degree or two and top out in the low 80s most spots.  The region stays dry with a light breeze, considered pleasant and “summer-like” to many. Enjoy the outdoors, that is why we live here for the most part.

Saturday will be slightly warmer with highs reaching the low to middle 80s and mostly sunny. There will be breezy conditions once again and the risk of fire danger increase with each day of no soaking rains.  Stay alert this weekend.  Sunday brings back the 90s as the ridge of high pressure off the coast bumps up the temps in the Pacific North West.

Monday will be hot again but there is an area of low pressure slated to develop south of the region and move from south to north on Monday afternoon. There is a chance for us to get some much-needed rain, but it will be accompanied by lightning, so we need to be alert for the dangers of the lightning. Right now, it is a work in progress and we will fine tune the timing and intensity of this event.  For now, enjoy the quite and dry pattern and all that Central Oregon has to offer.

Please stay safe and have fun.
