Stormy week ahead, Local Alert Days Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
The threat of showers and storms exists each day through at least Thursday. The storms will develop in the heat of the day and generate lightning, brief heavy rain, and gusty winds. The storms will be spotty today and Tuesday but become more widespread and slightly more intense Wednesday and Thursday.

The storms on Tuesday will be spotty and scattered, with the focus of the storms being over the mountains. The Local Alert Weather Days for Tuesday is with regards to a Red Flag Warning issued for Tuesday to go along with the spotty storms.
Wednesday and Thursday Alert Days are issued as the storms will be more impactful and widespread throughout the High Desert. The Local Alert Days are issued to give everyone a heads up that storms this week will be impactful and disrupt outdoor plans. Prepare accordingly if you are working or recreating outside this week.
The timing of the storms each day will be in the afternoon and evenings. Again, the more robust and active days are Wednesday and Thursday, but if you are near the Cascades Tuesday, stay alert for thunderstorms.
The Storm Prediction Center has placed the area under the General Risk Category for thunderstorms each of the next few days. The chance for severe storms is not on the table at the moment, but we will still see a good deal of lightning, so stay alert when out and about all week.
Temperatures will top out in the 90s Tuesday and Wednesday, allowing for the atmosphere to percolate in the afternoon. This will start the convective process and our stormy pattern each afternoon.
