First weekend of fall will be warm, then rainy and cooler next week
(KTVZ, Bend Ore.) This week was defined by the temperatures that went from 70s Monday to 90s Wednesday to 70s again Friday, hitting the 80s on Tuesday and Thursday. The bell curve of afternoon highs.
After a cool down to the 70s today the region will once again warm to the 80s over the weekend.
Saturday will be a warmer than normal day with high temperatures topping out in the low 80s. Expect to see mostly sunny skies and a light breeze. This is the first weekend of Fall and it will feel more like a summer weekend. This may very well be the last warm weekend for a while as we are moving deeper into Autumn.
Sunday will be a day of transition as we push from dry and warm to rainy and cooler. The mercury in the thermometer will rise to the 80s again as the ridge of high pressure lingers just long enough to get us well above normal with respect to the temperatures.
Late in the day there will be a noticeable increase in the cloud cover. This is out ahead of the cooler than normal pattern setting up for the new work week.
Monday will be the beginning of a wet and cool weather pattern. Highs Monday will be in the mid-70s under mostly cloudy skies and periods of rain. The rain will be off and on through the day, and will be softly soaking into the soil.
Tuesday may not see much rain, but there is still a chance. The highs will be in the middle 60s and some pockets of light rain are expected. More rain is on the way Wednesday with off and on showers. The rain will be light to moderate and will aid in putting our fire season to an end.
Thursday is expected to be another cloudy and cool day with a few scattered showers. Friday will be the end of the rainy period as we see the mercury rise back into the 70s under partly cloudy skies.
