Warm and dry the rest of the week, rain expected Sunday

(KTVZ, Bend Ore.) The region will be warming up as we head toward the weekend. Highs will cross the 60-degree today and Friday on our way to 70 on Saturday.

The ridge begins to take over the High Desert today as we hit the low to middle 60s.  This introduction of milder air will be present through Saturday.

A change over to rain and mountain snow returns to the area on Sunday. After sunset Saturday rain starts to make it to Central Oregon from the northwest. Expect mostly cloudy skies Sunday, along with a steady dose of rain.

The rain will shift over to mountain snow by the early morning hours as the colder air arrives. 

Time frame for the rain and wintry mix is overnight Saturday into Sunday.  The showers look to taper off by the early afternoon.

Making plans this weekend, be sure to take into account the rainy Sunday. If you want to do any outdoor recreating, the dry day will be Saturday, the wet day will be Sunday.  Highs on Sunday will be much cooler, only the 50s, compared to the upper 60s and low 70s of Saturday.

After the rain ends Sunday, we are going to dry out and get back to the 60s into the middle of next week.
