Mild pattern remains, wet and windy pattern returns late week
(KTVZ, Bend Ore). The mild conditions this week will last through Wednesday as the ridge of high pressure remains the dominant feature in the west. The high temperatures through Wednesday will reach the 60s each afternoon.
Tuesday will be partly cloudy and high will be near 65 as the ridge remains in place, but migrating east. This movement east opens the door for more cloud cover and a shift in the pattern later this week.
Veterans Day events will go off without a hitch tomorrow as the skies will be partly cloudy and the temps will be pleasant.

Wednesday will be the “day of transition” as the skies will see increased cloud cover through the day. Rain will arrive on the coast but not make it across the Cascades. The winds will pick up late in the day ahead of the line of showers, gusting near 25 mph at times. Overnight into Thursday we should see the advent of the rainy pattern that will be off and on for several days.
The dry pattern ends on Thursday with rainy conditions across the high desert and high elevation snow. The rain and snow will be off and on most of the day, but most of the activity will be closer to the mountains.
Friday morning will have a mix of rain and snow, with the rain being most locations. Sisters and La Pine have a chance for some rain and snow mixed, but overall not much accumulating snow is expected. This of course may change as we get closer to the event.
I expect the rain and mountain snow to last through the weekend as the pattern remains active. Keep the rain gear handy starting Thursday.
As for the snow levels, the first round of precipitation Thursday will be mild so the passes may only see a mix overnight. Friday will be a bit colder so the passes may see some accumulating snow into Saturday morning.
