Cooler week ahead with off and on rain chances and mountain snow
Bend, Ore (KTVZ). The warmer pattern of last week is behind us as a much cooler and more seasonable temperature profile is ahead. The area will also have a chance for off and on rain showers and high elevation snow this week.
Tonight there will be light rain arriving after midnight across the Cascades. The air will be mild enough for mostly rain to fall, with some snow mingled in above the pass levels. This rain will be light and should be confined to the mountains, with some cold rain pushing into the high desert. This rainy night will be the first in a series of rain events this week.
Monday starts out with some light rain for the morning commute, but mainly along the Cascades. Roads will be wet, so be advised that the morning commute may take a little extra time. This light rain will end before noon and the rest of the day will be chilly, with highs in the 50s, and partly cloudy.
Tuesday will be quiet and dry with highs in the upper 40, just about normal for this time of year. Breezy, dry and cool will define the day.
Wednesday will start out dry and crisp with temps in the upper 20s to start the day. Clouds will move in as the day moves along ahead of a line of rain and snow mixed arriving after sunset. This rainy and wintry mix pattern will move across before sunrise, but the Thursday morning commute may be slick. Some snow may accumulate on grassy areas in southern and western Deschutes County overnight.

Another line of more persistent rain and snow is expected to follow Thursday afternoon. This will mainly be confined to the mountains but will persist through the night. Light rain lingers off and on Friday in the western sections of the Tri-Counties. Crook County may not see much rain or snow, just the occasional light rain or drizzle.
