Cold night ahead, wintry mix expected early Thursday
Bend, Ore (KTVZ). After a quiet and dry day today, there will be some changes on the horizon tomorrow. Currently we have mostly to partly cloudy skies and a near normal temperature forecast for today. Highs will be in the upper 40s and low 50s today, which is right where we should be for this time of year.
The skies are expected to be clear tonight and that will allow the mercury to drop into the teens and 20s across the region.
Wednesday will start out sunny and cold but as the day moves along the skies will fill with clouds. Highs get back into the 50s Wednesday.
The cloud cover is out ahead of a cold front that will cross the coast around midnight Wednesday and bring with it some rain. The rain will mix with some snow overnight across the Cascades then be present Thursday morning in the western and southern Deschutes County. The wintry mix will be more of an inconvenience for most, causing slick roads and driving concerns.
The rain and snow mix will be short lived as the skies will clear by noon Thursday. The cloudy and wintry start to the day will keep the temps down a bit, as highs will once again be in the 40s.
Warmer weather is expected to return for the weekend with highs in the middle to upper 50s. Another chance for snow and rain is currently timed out for Monday, but it does not look impressive on any of the models. We will fine tune this feature when we get closer to the event.
Please, Stay safe.
