Dry and mild weekend after a quick round of rain and snow last night

Bend, Ore (KTVZ).  Signs of hope for snow riders today as Mt. Bachelor received about 2” of snow. Not nearly close to what they need to open, which is about 24”, but it is a start. Not much more wet weather is on the horizon this week, but a wet pattern may develop late next week.

In Central Oregon today we should be able to get some nice sunshine. It will be chilly, with highs in the upper 40s, but mostly sunny skies are expected.

Friday will be a dry and mild day as the mercury in the thermometer peaks out in the low 50s. We should stay dry through the weekend and a brief warm up to the upper 50s is expected Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday will be mostly sunny and mild as highs reach the middle to upper 50s.  Enjoy the sunshine and the pleasant conditions as we are fast approaching the true winter months.

Sunday will see some clouds move in as the day moves along with the chance for some light rain and snow over the mountains late in the day.  Most locations in Central Oregon away from the Cascades will be dry, but the clouds will be a noticeable feature late in the day.

Monday will start out with a few showers and maybe some light snow, but similar to today’s event, not much is expected to stick and accumulate.

The rest of the short work week will be dry, with some light rain arriving late Wednesday into Thanksgiving. Still well out in the future so we can fine tune that part of the forecast when we get into next week.

Please, Stay safe.
