Rainy and above normal pattern begins, lingers next week

Bend, Ore (KTVZ).  The region will be seeing a good deal of cloud cover and rain off and on over the next several days. A steady flow of moisture will stream over Central Oregon allowing the lakes and reservoirs to gain some water.

The chance for snow is low for the next several days as temperatures will be in the 50s. There may be a wintry mix of rain and snow early in the day at times, before sunrise, but generally we are seeing rain.

The snow levels are expected to be very high, possibly above 7500 feet due to the warmer than normal pattern. The resorts are even having a tough time making snow in the warm conditions.

Friday will be the wettest day with a widespread swath of rain expected. There may be anywhere from a quarter to half inch of rain by the end of the day Friday. There will be much more rain accumulating over the mountains as some models indicate 2 or 3 inches of rain.  If that were snow, we would be riding the slopes shortly, but it is not to be just yet.

Saturday will begin with some rain and snow mixed early in the day, but should be mainly a cloudy day. The low to middle 50s will make for a pleasant day to watch a parade, aside from the chance for light rain. Bring your rain gear just in case if you are planning to go to any of the parades this weekend.  The Bend Christmas Parade steps off at noon, and the KTVZ gang will be in the parade so come out and say hello.

Sunday will be rainy as well with off and on showers mainly in the morning.   Then a brief break Monday before another round of rain arrives on Tuesday.

Please, Stay safe.
