Record breaking warmth continues today, air quality issues persist

BEND, Ore (KTVZ) -
We were able to break temperature records in Bend, Redmond, and Sunriver yesterday afternoon. Highs tipped into the lower 60s for some yesterday. Because of how warm we were able to get yesterday, we’ve adjusted the forecast slightly. Highs this afternoon will be in the 50s and lower 60s again, which sets us up to potentially break records once again this afternoon.
The ridge of high pressure that has temperatures well above the seasonal average will move west in the latter half of the week. It will still be partially overhead but it will be weaker. Temperatures will be in the 40s and lower 50s into next week.
Air quality issues will continue. Alerts are out for the remainder of the week. Avoid outdoor burning and check the air quality before making any outdoor plans. Air quality could be unhealthy in some areas today.
I am not seeing any chance for precipitation through the extended forecast.
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
