Mild and cloudy Tuesday, overnight showers end early Wednesday

KTVZ

Bend, Ore (KTVZ) – A mixture of clouds and sunshine today will allow us to once again get well above our normal 53 for this time of year.  Expect to see some clouds arrive overnight but Tuesday will stay dry and above normal with highs in the low to middle 60s.

Clouds arrive after sunset and take over the Pacific Northwest as a cold front approaches. Ahead of the front will be the chance for some light rain in the evening giving the spring blooms a light watering. The rain will be light and soak into the parched earth as best it can.

The rain showers will end overnight as the frontal boundary passes. The region will be much cooler with highs reaching the low 50s, which is still about normal for late March.

Late in the day Wednesday there may be some moisture left to wring out so we have a chance for a light dusting of snow across the Cascades before midnight.  The temps will be cold enough to support snow as low as 3500 feet, but there is very little chance of any moisture making it past the east face of the Cascade Range. Cooler and cloudy conditions will be felt overnight then a clearing, milder and drier pattern returns Thursday.

Expect to deal with a chilly start to Thursday as the skies will have cleared before dawn. Lows will be sub-freezing, in the middle 20s, before rising to near normal temps Thursday afternoon, the low 50s.

Warming and dry will define the end of the week and into the weekend. Highs Friday will reach the low 60s followed by the low 70s both Saturday and Sunday.

Clouds return Monday as we get ready for April. Highs will be in the 60s then dip into the 50s for the last day of the month. March will slide out like a Lamb, as the folklore contends, with highs near normal and mostly cloudy skies.

Please, Stay safe.
