The Cascades continue to receive new snow and the base totals are above 100" in a number of resorts. The fresh powder is expected to be continue to grow as the week moves along and there will be several inches of snow, actually a couple of feet, by the end of the work week. Wednesday will see periods of snow before a massive storm arrives overnight into Thursday. There is a Winter Storm Warning that will go into effect staring late Wednesday afternoon and last until Friday morning before sunrise. The good news is the snow will be around 2 feet by Friday morning, the bad news is the winds will be dangerously high. Gusts near 60 mph will be possible, making for a rough outing on Thursday. Heading into the weekend, the snow will linger, but much more subtle, with snow showers verses a snow storm. Stay safe getting to the mountains Thursday.
