Prineville police plan pedestrian enforcement effort

KTVZ

The Prineville Police Department will be conducting a pedestrian enforcement operation on Saturday in the area of Northeast Third Street downtown, the agency said Tuesday.

The goal of the noon to 2 p.m. operation is to increase awareness that every intersection is a crosswalk and to be aware of pedestrians walking in those intersections.

“The police department hopes to increase safety not only in the operation area, but the city as a whole,” Officer James Young said in a news release.

The Prineville Police Department encourages all drivers to make a conscious effort to drive responsibly and safely. This enforcement operation is made possible through overtime funding provided by Oregon Impact.
