Local Alert Weather – Fri. PM

KTVZ

Happy Friday evening, everyone!

Our Air Quality Alert has been dropped for the time being. Smoke has moved out of the area with a westerly flow carrying the smoke out to the east. Breezy conditions at times are expected through sunset out of the northwest around 20 miles per hour.

Overnight lows will be cold in the lower 30s in Sunriver and La Pine to the lower 40s in Bend. If you have any outdoor plants you’re concerned about I would cover them up. Expect mostly clear skies overhead with some haze and smoke.

Saturday begins on a cool note with temperatures in the lower 40s for many. We’ll warm into the low to mid 70s, which is below average for this time of year. We’ll start with sunny skies Saturday and a little smoke. Clouds will push in from the northwest by lunchtime, so we’ll end the day with partly cloudy skies. Winds will gust around 20 miles per hour out of the northwest.

Temperatures remain chilly for the weekend as we’ll be below average. We’ll see some clouds throughout the weekend, but not nearly as much smoke as we saw this week.

Next week will see warmer temperatures back to the upper 70s and lower 80s. Smoke is expected to make a return midweek.

Stay up to date with all the fires burning in our area on our Fire Alert page.

Have a happy & safe weekend!

— Emily
