Local Alert Weather – Wed. PM
Happy Wednesday evening, everyone!
Breezy conditions tonight as a westerly flow brings more smoke our way from the Terwilliger Fire burning in the Willamette National Forest near Cougar Reservoir. A few clouds are expected between this evening and midnight. Temperatures will be slightly above average for overnight lows in the low to mid 40s.
Tomorrow morning we’ll wake up to poor air quality levels and some clouds. Throughout the day we’ll see a change overhead and with our air quality. Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies are expected throughout the day as a system drops down from the northwest. Air quality levels will be better by the second half of the day.
Highs will be cooler on Thursday as the jet stream dips to the south. We’ll be seeing highs in the mid to upper 70s, which is a little below average. Cooler air and breezy conditions out of the northwest will help push smoke to the southeast.
We’ll see most of the clouds break up by Friday, so we’ll be looking at more sunshine. Skies should stay sunny and hazy for Labor Day weekend as high pressure makes a return. Temperatures will float right around average in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
Smoke will likely return to our skies by Sunday or Monday as we enter the next weather pattern.
