Unique mobile escape room opens in Bend
A new escape room attraction opened in Bend last week — and this one can come to you. Ole Pappy’s Trapper Cabin is on wheels, handcrafted and upcycled from a 1971 travel trailer.
The premise of the game is: You and your friends are hiking in the woods when it starts to pour down rain. You stumble upon a cabin and get locked in. You have 30 minutes to find your way out before Ole Pappy comes home. You can also book a 60-minute experience, if you’d like.
The cabin’s so-called groundskeeper and owner, Ky Dobson, said een if someone’s a bit claustrophobic, there’s nothing to worry about.
“I designed it for the beginner, introductory, family-friendly, not uber-competitive. There are some challenges in there, and some very interesting design elements,” Dobson said Monday.
Ole Pappy’s home is located at The Box Factory in Bend. Since it’s a mobile escape room, Ole Pappy makes house calls for personal events, too.
