Local Alert Weather – Wed. PM

KTVZ

Happy Wednesday evening, everyone!

Expect mixed showers and freezing rain tonight. Locations closer to the Cascades or higher elevations could see some snow showers as well. These showers will leave the roads slippery and icy, so take your time getting around. Surfaces like parking lots, sidewalks, and driveways will also be greasy.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in place for the Bend, Redmond, Madras, and Warm Springs areas for icy roads due to freezing rain and mixed showers. Expect slippery surfaces.

Overnight mixed shower chances will continue, but will lighten up after midnight. Lows will only bottom out in the 30s because of an approaching warm front. Winds will be out of the southeast around 15 miles per hour, so don’t be surprised to hear breezy conditions at times.

Tomorrow morning will see a slick, slow start to the day. Be careful and slow down while driving. We’ll have a break from the showers before more showers pick up by the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 40s allowing many locations to break free from the freezing temperatures and inversion. Roads are expected to be wet and slick tomorrow afternoon as well.

Overnight into Friday we see dry conditions before more showers return Friday around lunchtime. The pattern of dry times and wet times carries us all the way through the weekend.
