Redmond’s South Canal Blvd. reopens
Here is the city of Redmond’s details on Canal Boulevard’s reopening, as well as the road closures and delays update for the week of April 22-26:
South Canal Improvement Project:
SW Veterans Way to SW Salmon Ave – South Canal Blvd from SW Veterans Way to SW Salmon Ave is open to thru traffic. Minor traffic disruptions may occur near SW Kalama Ave and near SW Pumice Ave as crews complete a pedestrian crossing, median, and curbing. Please use caution and follow work zone traffic control signs.
North Section (SW Canal Blvd to SW Salmon Ave – SW Obsidian Ave and 11 th Street)
Paving and striping was completed yesterday and now SW Canal Blvd is open to thru traffic from SW Veterans Way to SW Salmon Ave. Expect to see crews performing work at the intersection of SW Kalama Ave and SW Canal Blvd over the next couple of weeks installing a pedestrian crossing and a concrete median. There will be minimal delays to traffic during this work. Furthermore, crews will be installing curb and tying into the asphalt path near SW Pumice Ave. Please remember to watch for workers and follow all work zone traffic control signs.
City Street Maintenance Operations:
Monday, April 22 thru April 26 – Starting at 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the following traffic disruptions will take place.
Crack seal operations will be commencing throughout the City; activities may temporarily disrupt lanes and intersections.
Herbicide application to roadside vegetation will be occurring on local streets; lane disruptions and slowed traffic may occur.
ADA Street Improvement projects and curb ramp enhancements will be occurring at local intersections; activities may temporarily disrupt lanes and intersections.
Tuesday, April 23 thru April 24 – Starting at 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., intersection of NW Ivy Ave and NW 17 th St
Asphalt patching and repair will occur at the intersection of NW Ivy Ave and NW 17 th St from 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday through 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Please use caution or an alternate route.
NOTE – During street maintenance operations, closure durations and disruptions are determined by progress of the operation and weather conditions.
Ongoing Closures:
SW 8 th St from SW Evergreen Ave to SW Deschutes Ave – Intermittent closures for construction throughout April
SW 8 th St from SW Evergreen Ave to SW Deschutes Ave will be closed intermittently throughout April while construction activities related to the Centennial Park Expansion occur. Please use detours or an alternate route.
SW 6 th St from SW Evergreen Ave to SW Forest Ave – Traffic disruptions and sidewalk closures for construction throughout April
SW 6 th St from SW Evergreen Ave to SW Forest Ave will experience intermittent lane and sidewalk closures throughout April as SunWest Builders performs construction activities for the Historic Redmond Hotel. Business access will be available. Please use caution or an alternate route.
SW Metolius Ave from SW 23rd St to SW 27th St – Closed for construction thru Friday, May 24, 2019
SW Metolius Ave from SW 23rd St to SW 27th St will be closed while Rickabaugh Construction installs sewer and water mains, curbs, sidewalks, and asphalt paving. Local access for residents will be permitted form SW 27th St. Please use detours or an alternate route.
NW Northwest Way from NW Spruce Ave to NW Upas Ave – Closed for construction thru Friday, April 26, 2019
NW Northwest Way from 200 feet South of NW Spruce Ave for 700 feet North will be closed while Jack Robinson & Sons constructs the City of Redmond’s Far West Sewer Interceptor project, new water main, and fully reconstructs the roadway. Please use detours or an alternate route.
NW Spruce Ave from NW 22 nd St to NW 19 th St – Closed for construction thru Tuesday, May 7, 2019
NW Spruce Ave from NW 22 nd St to NW 19 th St will be closed while Jack Robinson & Sons constructs the City of Redmond’s Far Wester Sewer Interceptor project. This closure includes the intersection of NW 22 nd St and NW Spruce Ave. Please use detours or an alternate route.
