Bend-La Pine Schools marks Teacher Appreciation Week

It’s National Teacher Appreciation Week, and Bend-La Pine Schools is celebrating teachers and all that they do to serve students. From hand-written notes to special kickball games to lunches, our teachers will feel the love this week as they are honored by families and parent groups.

More than 900 certified employees work at Bend-La Pine Schools, serving as classroom teachers, counselors, school psychologists and more.

“I hope you’ll join me in honoring our teachers today and every day. They bring academic rigor and inventive, relevant instruction to our students,” said Superintendent Shay Mikalson. “These staff members build meaningful relationships with our students and deliver an incredible culture of care in our schools. Those positive relationships make all the difference and change students’ lives for the better.”

Schools and parent groups celebrate this week through a variety of ways including hand-written notes, flowers, lunches and other thoughtful gestures. Bend-La Pine Schools’ Board of Directors also declared this week in honor of teacher appreciation.

Parents and students who wish to honor a teacher can share a note of thanks to spotlight@bend.k12.or.us Bend-La Pine Schools will highlight these notes through its social media channels.
