Police arrest 3 on prostitution charges at NE Bend hotel

A tip to 911 led to the arrest of a Bend man and two Stockton, California women on prostitution charges Saturday evening at a northeast Bend hotel, police said Monday.

A call was made around 7:20 p.m. on Saturday to Deschutes County 911 dispatchers regarding suspected prostitution at the Days Inn by Wyndham on Northeast Third Street, Lt. Juli McConkey said.

Police responded and contacted Menione Moore, 28, and Tanisha Hopkins, 33, both of Stockton, who were staying at the hotel, McConkey said.

They also contacted a Bend man identified as Andrew Fecteau, 53, who the lieutenant said was in a hotel room with one of the women.

Officers also “located evidence related to the crime of prostitution,” McConkey said in a news release. She declined to reveal more information as the case remains under investigation.

All three were arrested on charges of prostitution, a Class A misdemeanor (ORS 167.007)..

Fecteau was taken to the county jail and released on his own recognizance about an hour later, a jail representative said. McConkey said the two women were cited in lieu of custody.

“I don’t know all of the factors, which could be many, involved regarding this case and why one was taken to the jail and the other two were given a citation,” the lieutenant told NewsChannel 21..
