1 killed, 1 arrested in Portland hit-and-run crash
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police say one person has been arrested in a hit-and-run crash that killed one person and injured several others in southeast Portland.
The crash happened Monday afternoon. Authorities say a woman was struck and killed at the scene and that a driver fled on foot. A Portland Fire and Rescue spokesman says one person was critically hurt and at least two others also were injured.
After a search of the area, Portland Police announced later Monday that they had made an arrest.
KOIN-TV reports the driver who fled was hiding in a swimming pool about a mile away.
