Local Alert Weather – Mon. PM

KTVZ

Happy Monday evening, everyone!

A beautiful way to begin the week! Temperatures were just about average, and we had nothin’ but sunshine. Overnight we continue to stay clear. Low temperatures will be in the low to mid 40s, which is about normal. Winds will calm overnight.

Tomorrow we’ll see more sunshine again, but a major warm up. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s for highs, which is about 10 degrees above normal. If you think tomorrow is hot, then wait until Wednesday. Winds will be out of the north around 10 to 15 miles per hour in the second half of the day.

Overnight into Wednesday we stay clear, but Wednesday sees changes overhead. Clouds roll up from the south by the second half of the day, and we see a slight chance for thunderstorms. A FIRE WEATHER WATCH is in effect for the threat of lightning causing a fire to start, and gusty winds with the storms fanning the flames. We see a chance for thunderstorms overnight into Thursday as well as Thursday afternoon.

High temperatures on Wednesday will be the hottest of the week peaking in the upper 90s. Winds will pick up at times Wednesday, and we’ll see temperatures cool Thursday as a result. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s and lower 90s.

We stay on the hot side through the end of the week. Friday will see mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s. By the weekend temperatures will cool into the 80s, but we’ll still see sunny skies.
