Street Dog Hero brings back the Heroes on the Run 5K fundraiser in Bend
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) At the Athletic Club of Bend, Sunday brought the fourth annual Heroes on the Run event, to benefit the Bend nonprofit Street Dog Hero.
It included a 5K fundraiser and a kid's mini-run. About 200 people tied up their shoelaces for the run -- and of course, many people brought their four-legged friends along.
The event expanded this year, as on Saturday, there was also a run in Portland.
The Bend event featured food trucks, raffle prizes, entertainment and local vendors. The fundraising goal is to raise $100,000.
The nonprofit's focus is to create positive changes in the lives of animals and their humans through rescues, adoptions and other programs.
