Judge orders federal agents to stop cutting Texas razor wire for now at busy Mexico border crossing

McALLEN, Texas (AP) — A federal judge has ordered Border Patrol agents not to interfere with razor wire installed by the state of Texas at a busy crossing for migrants on the U.S.-Mexico border. The judge on Monday ruled that the barrier can only be cut to provide aid during medical emergencies. Texas contends federal agents who are cutting the wire installed by the state are ‘undermining’ their border enforcement efforts. The federal judge in Del Rio granted a temporary injunction that will keep federal agents from cutting razor wire in Eagle Pass for two weeks.  Spokespersons for U.S. Customs and Border Protection said they do not comment on pending litigation but will comply with the order.
