A Bend Police officer was conducting a speed patrol Tuesday evening on the parkway’s southbound lanes near the Colorado Avenue exit when he conducted a traffic stop on an Acura MDX traveling at 106 mph, “which is 61 mph over the 45 mph speed limit,” police said in a Facebook posting.

“The 20-year-old Bend driver was cited for reckless driving and speeding at 100+, which has a presumptive fine of $1,150,” police said.

“Speed kills. Please slow down,” the posting concluded.
