BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) --  All aboard for the Eastern Cascades Model Railroad Club's 27th annual Open House next weekend.

The open house will showcase an indoor HO-scale model railroad, chugging through the miniature town.

"We have several new scenery items that have been done," club President Brian Benjamin said Saturday. "We just have finished a major electric upgrade to it, too, for control of our engines."

There's also an outdoor railroad you can ride.

"Outside here, we've just got done rebuilding this passenger area," Benjamin said. "It kind of failed over the winter, so we had no choice but to rebuild it. And this is what we got today."

The open house provides free train admissions and free admission for all ages.

There's about 15 engines going, with several steam engines for families to climb aboard for a 15-minute ride.

At the open house, there will be plenty of food and drinks available from The Corn Dog Company, Red Beard Barbecue and Kona Ice.

"We have a lot of fun for open house," Benjamin said. "It's not only a line for just children. We have a lot of seniors that love to come out and watch the trains go around."

If you want to come to the open house to see all the trains, it's taking place next Saturday and Sunday, September 7 and 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
