Mtn. View senior Eli Hogan not only won Deschutes County’s ‘I Voted’ sticker contest – he registered to vote, too

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Deschutes County Clerk Steve Dennison on Monday recognized Mountain View High School senior Eli Hogan as the winner of the  “I Voted” Sticker Contest for the 2024 General Election. And the soon-to-be 18-year-old also took the occasion to register to vote for the first time.

Eli's winning entry was chosen from six submitted entries in the middle to high school category. His digitally designed red, white and blue sticker, which highlights the beauty of the Deschutes County wilderness, will be handed out to voters during this year’s General Election.

Eli met with Dennison at the County Election Office, where he was presented with a framed copy of the Deschutes County Voters' Pamphlet, which features his design on the front page. It also will be used on the “I Voted” stickers, as well as on other election materials.

While at the Election Office, Eli filled out a voter registration form. He will turn 18 years old in October, so he will be eligible to vote for the first time in the General Election. 

Earlier this year, Ivy Sapp, a second-grader from Lava Ridge Elementary in Bend, won the sticker contest in the elementary school student category. Ivy’s winning sticker was used on election materials, and the “I Voted” sticker for the 2024 Presidential Primary Election in May.
