Summit grad Slater de Brun selected 37th overall in the MLB draft to the Orioles

Bend, Or. (KTVZ)- Sunday night the MLB draft kicked off and Summit graduate Slater De Brun was selected in the Competitive Balance Round A, 37th overall, to the Baltimore Orioles. This has been months in the making as Slater has been slowly crawling up the MLB draft boards. The recent Summit graduate is coming off a state championship and IMC player of the year honors. Slater is committed to Vanderbilt, so he will now choose between the big leagues and the Commodores. Slater finished the 2025 high school season batting .370 with 26 RBIs and speed is what separates him as he stole 22 bases and held down centerfield. Other MLB draft updates: Summit had two other former players taken in the MLB draft, Oregon State centerfielder and Arizona State commit Finn Edwards.

The Seattle Mariners selected Kade Anderson (LHP) from LSU 3rd overall; Luke Stevenson (C) UNC went 35th overall to the Mariners.

Oregon States Aiva Arquette was drafted 7th overall to the Miami Marlins

Sunset High School in Beaverton Oregon had Kruz Schoolcraft drafted 25th overall by the San Diego Padres
