LOCAL ALERT WEATHER DAY: Thunderstorms continue but chances drop this weekend

Bend, OR (KTVZ) -

This morning, stray showers are possible, maybe a few raindrops on your windshield during your morning commute. Thunderstorms continue this afternoon–we are clocking in at four stormy days in a row so far. A Local Alert Weather Day has been issued.

There is the potential for abundant lightning and gusty winds near storms tonight, which is increasing fire danger. The Red Flag Warning has been extended until 11pm tonight.

Chances for storms fall off after today. However, models are producing a few pop up storms throughout the weekend. Although chances for you getting caught under a storm in the coming few days are slight, they aren’t zero. In other words, I wouldn’t go planning your weekend around it, but make sure you’re keeping it in the back of your mind if you have outdoor plans.

Storms and showers are possible at the very top of next week but then we officially clear out as the pattern becomes more sensible and quiet and calm. Temperatures for the long term will be in the 80s.

Happy Thursday! Have a great day.
