Skies have cleared making it a chilly start today
Bend, OR (KTVZ) -
Grab an extra layer on your way out this morning–skies have cleared which means it's a chilly morning! Some areas are waking up to near freezing temps. You'll want to check for frost on your garden. Be aware on your morning commute: fog has developed in southern Deschutes County and visibility could be limited at times.
After an extended period of cool, wet, and sometimes stormy weather, a new pattern is taking over for the long term. A ridge of high pressure is building today and will be the dominating pattern this week. Under this setup, conditions will be warm and dry.
Today is a transition day, which means afternoon highs are still just a few degrees below normal. Plan for highs in the upper 60s and low 70s. By tomorrow, however, temperatures will jump about 10 degrees into the upper 70s and low 80s. You should see warm and above normal temperatures through the rest of the week.
Another system will approach off the coast mid week, but not quite make it overhead. It will bring breezy winds at times, but the weather will remain warm and dry otherwise.
I’m keeping my eye out on the potential for isolated storms over the weekend, but confidence is very low. For now, we’ll call it variably cloudy.
Happy Monday! Have a wonderful week.
